January 10th, 2005 How to Build a Better You.

December 9th, 2005 ASMP Dallas - Darkslide Holiday Party. The party was such a hit that we had to kick everyone out at 12:30am or we might still be there!

Special thanks to Chris Jones, Nick Mann, Margaret Bryant for helping setup. Thanks to Chris and Manuel for organizing and collecting the raffle items. And a very big thanks to the awesome sponsor's who donated the party door prizes.

November 15th, 2005 ASMP Dallas Presents "The Workbook". A hearty group of 19 ASMP members and guests braved the cold wind to come out and welcome Robert Saxon of Workbook to the metroplex.

The meeting was full of great information, with Robert covering many important topics for today's photographer.

October 18th, 2005 ASMP Dallas looked to Photography Representatives for the answers to many burning questions. The Dallas chapter of ASMP, American Society of Media Photographers, was proud to host a tremendous evening with the area's finest Photography Representatives. 25+ photographers and students were in attendance. The host provided excellent questions and the crowd also participated in a healthy banter with the Representatives.

We would like to thank Sheila Mullin of Those 3 Reps, Denise Stewart, who represents Stewart Cohen and Booth and Associates and Ally Godfrey of Ally Godfrey Represents. We appreciate your time and efforts in attending this event and in sharing your knowledge with us all.

 

September 13th, 2005 So You Always Wanted to Be An Artist And Live Like a Bohemian The Dallas chapter of ASMP, American Society of Media Photographers, captivated an audience of nearly 60 veteran and student photographers seeking insight on achieving success in fine art photography. Attendees crowded into the main viewing room of the Goss Gallery, access graciously provided by Kenny Goss. Alycen Cuellar and gallery staff could not have been more accommodating and cordial. A lively social and hors d' oeuvres session was followed with a panel discussion that could easily have run an hour longer.

Panelists included a broad representation of the Dallas/Fort Worth area's art icons including:

Topics ranged from best methods to market and show work, how galleries select artists, and photographic processes comparing film to digital.

August 16th, 2005 Agency Roundtable was a smash hit! Over 40 ASMP members, guests and students attended this information packed evening.

June 11th, 2005 Maria Piscopo . Maria Piscopo Calls the Shots At ASMP Dallas June Event

Dallas, TX -

Creative marketing maven Maria Piscopo captivated an audience of 30 photographers and photo reps Saturday, June 11 in a day-long marketing seminar.

Ms. Piscopo spoke to the group for about 6 hours on topics including,

  • making money in today's economy
  • setting a direction for business growth
  • marketing through print, email and website
  • getting the price a photographer needs for their work

Intense questions were asked of Ms. Piscopo, specific to the Dallas photography market. Attendees sat focused and attentive during the entire 6 plus hour program.

Thanks to the generous folks at Extensis, Jennifer Stone received a copy of Portfolio 7 image management software. Recently expanded trade magazine Create provided complimentary subscriptions, received by Margaret Bryant and Ric Moore. Dan H, Todd Kyger, Wade Hampton, James Wilson, and Jennifer Stone received sample copies of Photoshop User, courtesy of NAPP. Scott Metcalfe provided use of his studio and a ready supply of coffee, snacks and beverages.
